Starting therapy is a brave step. I will offer you a warm and safe place to explore whatever concerns you may have. My therapeutic approach is eclectic; I draw from the theory and tools of multiple different models to customize your treatment. In order to honor your unique experience, my work with you will be individualized to your specific needs. I will rely on your feedback to direct our time together. My goal is for you to leave each session, confident that our time was useful to you.
In therapy, we will examine your life values and make goals, so that problems will not prevent you from living well. I will integrate psychodynamic (insight-oriented) and behavioral (skills-based) theories to offer you a comprehensive approach to health. As a trained yoga instructor, I also incorporate meditative practices into my work.
I provide individual, couples and family therapy to adults and adolescents. Areas of special interest include relational concerns, college counseling, difficulty with transitions, women's issues (including postpartum depression, miscarriage, body image, family/parenting, etc), trauma, anxiety, depression, sexual functioning and identity, and mood dysregulation. Other specific training includes Sex Therapy, Couples' Counseling, Family Therapy.
I look forward to talking with you more about how therapy can be helpful.
