Everyone deserves to live a life filled with pleasure, purpose, and meaning. Sometimes, we struggle with the inevitable difficulties of life and feel anxious, down, or stuck.

I enjoy helping clients engage in self-exploration so they can stop struggling and start living the life they want to live. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults, and work very well with young professionals and former (or current) athletes. Many of my clients describe themselves as competitive, or even perfectionistic. I have helped these clients achieve better work-life balance, tame their anxieties, and find internal motivation.

My specialties include mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, and difficult life transitions.  I am also skilled and experienced at career counseling, and frequently work with clients who are confused about their career path or who feel unfulfilled in their jobs. I work with these clients to find a career that fits their interests, values, personality style, and skills. I am happy to integrate this career counseling into standard therapy sessions, or to provide it as a standalone time-limited service.

My therapy style is conversational, open, and warm. I focus on building strong connections with my clients, and creating a safe, non-judgmental environment. I customize my style for a given client’s needs: I’m generally easygoing, but I’m also comfortable holding clients accountable when appropriate. Using CBT, ACT, and mindfulness frameworks, I help clients to increase psychological flexibility, challenge maladaptive thought patterns, and create meaningful behavioral changes in order to live richer, more fulfilling lives.  I also help clients examine the connection between mental and physical health, and build the skills they need to live healthier lifestyles.
